Curriculum

The course of studies at St. Ann’s School is based on the Curriculum Guide of the Kansas City -St. Joseph Catholic Diocese.

The students of St. Ann’s study the following:


Religion: the doctrine and teachings of the Catholic Church, the Bible the sacraments, prayer and weekly liturgical celebration, Christian life and values.

Language Arts: reading, informal and formal speech, handwriting, grammar skills, writing skills, spelling, listening and comprehension skills, dictionary and library skills.

Mathematics: Counting and place values, problem solving and applications, whole numbers, measurement, geometry, fractions, decimals, percents, consumer math, and pre-algebra.

Science and Health: physical and life sciences, earth and space science, tools of science, self-concepts, safety and personal health, people and the environment, substance abuse.

Music: elements of music, cultural, popular, and liturgical music; musical performance.

Physical Education: games and sports; fitness.

Computer Education: Keyboarding skills: computer applications.
